Common questions
Yes. ROTL is only granted after a thorough prison risk assessment. We only put forward candidates who have been assessed as suitable to work in the community.
Yes — you retain 100% control of every hiring decision. We put forward candidates we’ve assessed as suitable, and we encourage employers to look at each person’s individual circumstances rather than their history alone. That said, we’re realistic: some offences or role settings won’t be the right fit, and the final call is always yours.
We understand that starting a ROTL employment pathway is a big step, so we offer a 90-day free trial with no obligation. We’re confident the value this brings, to both employers and candidates, speaks for itself. After the trial period, we charge a small fee, which is fully reinvested into the mission to ensure the continued success of our placements.
Yes. We hold full Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance, alongside Employers’ Liability Insurance for our own staff. We are also fully GDPR-compliant, so all candidate and employer data is handled securely and in line with data protection law.
Less than you might expect. We take care of the licence framework, liaison and administration, so you simply manage the work as you would with any team member — and our friendly support is only ever a phone call away.
FFR is run by people who have navigated the ROTL pathway themselves, so we understand exactly what placements need to thrive. Every placement is supported by a dedicated caseworker throughout their time with us, helping ensure a smooth transition into work and giving both placement and employer the best chance of success.
Once a ROTL placement has been approved, they’re able to arrange their own transport at the establishment and are responsible for getting to and from work themselves. Where several placements are working at the same site, car sharing is common and often works well for everyone involved.
Many placements transition into permanent roles. We support that transition so you keep a trained, proven team member.
Tell us about your vacancies and we’ll show you how ROTL recruitment can work for your business.
